Summary/Abstract: Tectonics is the science of composition, of articulation through edification in an assembly of otherwise disparate things, such as to display the correct, harmonious distribution of forces, of tensions on ground. The Architekton is the old man, the chief of the tektons team, the only one that knows from the beginning how the building will look like, the unfinished edifice. Architecture has been, until Postmodernism, much more conservative, more belated as historic generation and consumption of change than the other arts. Postmodernism is the only artistic style that was born out of architecture, therefore, in the case of Postmodern style, the change, innovation, breach with tradition originates in architecture. There is already enough literature on the topic; I would recall here Kenneth Frampton`s introduction to his book ``Studies in Tectonic Culture`` and Demetri Porphyrios text ``From Techne to Tectonics``.
