Summary/Abstract: Privacy is vital to the freedom, dignity and safety of children and the exercise of their rights. Children's personal data are processed to provide them with educational, health or other benefits that may contribute to their harmonious development. Threats to the privacy of children's data can arise from the processing of their personal data by public institutions, businesses and other organisations, as well as from online criminal activities such as identity theft.
