Summary/Abstract: Xaribulbul is a very colorful and flowering plant found in Azerbaijan -mainly in Shusha-Karabakh region and believed by the society that "it does not grow anywhere else in the world", and there are various beliefs and narratives about it. It is understood that this plant, which is expressed with the word “Xaribülbül”, which is accepted to mean “thorny Nightingale” because it has a physical appearance where nightingale, rose and thorn are together, has a special place in Azerbaijan’s history, culture, folklore and art. As a matter of fact, since the Khanate Period, many beliefs, narratives and poems about this plant were created to be associated with the poet Ağabegüm/Ağabeyim Ağa (Ağabacı) Cevanşir, and its rich and remarkable appearances in various fields of Azerbaijani Turkish folk culture became evident. On the other hand, in the course of the Homeland Wars, which ended with the victory of the Azerbaijani army after the conflicts that started in 1987 and the 44-day struggle in 2020, and immediately after, the Karabakh victory, the history of this struggle and the victory, the Azerbaijani soldiers who were martyred during the struggle, it is seen that it has become a symbol of Azerbaijan's freedom and independence. In this study, the place of Xaribülbül in the history, culture, art, literature and folklore of Azerbaijan is emphasized, and how he became a national and cultural identity symbol during the Karabakh War and victory is discussed. Through the study, the process of becoming the symbol of the independence struggles in Azerbaijan, based on the developments in Shusha and Karabakh from past to present, has been examined under various sub-titles
