Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the relationship between the occurrence and representation of forms of address in contemporary coursebooks for teaching Polish as a foreign language at A0–B1 levels with their methodical concept. The analyzed contexts are the ones containing nominal and attributive forms of address appearing in syntactically non-integrated structures in the linguistic material of the textbooks. The author argues that the degree of presence and the range of the forms in a coursebook depends on its overall idea and concept, and in particular on the type of communication situations presented, the use of dialogues in presenting linguistic material, the decision to introduce redular characters in the textbook, the proportions between spoken, including colloquial, and written forms of communication, along with the degree of concentration on them, as well as the point in which vocative is introduced as a case.
