Periodical as a historical source for the history of culture in Silesia in the interwar period (selected issues)

Summary/Abstract: Periodicals belong to a small group of historical sources which researchers of the past simply must explore. They give a very broad overview of issues, from a purely informative layer to opinions and judgments. Apart from problems of political, social and economic life, they also deal with cultural issues. The richness of this type of media recording the past in Silesia practically obliges historians to refer in their research work to such historical sources. The aim of the article is, on the one hand, to draw attention to Silesian periodicals as important records of the history of the region, and on the other hand, to indicate their importance for the discovery of many areas of cultural life that are still outside the mainstream of research.
