Summary/Abstract: The article presents contemporary tendencies in organizational succession planning, how key positions are defined and why these processes are important for the organizations. Presented are good examples of succession planning and how is it connected to risk management, talent management and definition of deputy managers, and what are the differences. Introduced is an example of communication of succession planning and talent management process, and also creation and implementation of a training on „Talent management and succession planning for managers“ as very important steps in starting of the processes in international organizations. Presented is the key role of organizational psychologists and human resources experts in creation of individual development plans for the employees.
