Summary/Abstract: This issue of the Family and Work Bulletin series deals with collective labour relations at employers. The issue informs about the results of a questionnaire based field survey conducted by the Institute for Labour and Family Research in the private business sector in 2008. The survey was realised for the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family (Ministerstvo práce, sociálnych vecí a rodiny Slovenskej republiky, MPSVR SR) upon financial contract concluded for the project. Selected results of the survey concentrate on two main issues: implementation of collective labour relations at employers and the assessment of present legal regulation of the collective labour relations including collective bargaining (in terms of the Labour Code and the Act on collective bargaining) by employers and employee representatives. The survey results show how the companies in Slovakia use powers of employees’ representatives, what is the process and result of a social dialogue and its subject. Opinions of employers as well as of employee representatives (trade unions and/or Works Councils/Trustees on the above topics were collected through questionnaires in selected companies. The survey also pointed out problematic issues which arose during implementation of present labour legislation by employers. Proposals of researchers on desirable changes in collective labour relations, including legal regulation of labour relations, are presented in the final part of the issue, as well.
