Summary/Abstract: Among all philosophical disciplines, ethics in particular is an example of the dialogical nature of thinking. Moral norms are created as a result of discussion, but this discourse has its limits. For Robert Spaemann, this border is the human person. So his ethics derives from this concept. The article is an attempt to capture this constitutive dependency for Spaemann’s ethics and to highlight the main threads of ethical dilemmas. These include issues related to the approach to the initial and final stages of life, the relationship between man and nature, and shaping the norms of social life – with particular emphasis on the sphere of politics.
