Summary/Abstract: Doubts exist in all fields of the law, including transport law, and even with bills of lading, a document which requires the utmost trust, as the backbone to the maritime transport of goods. What are the most suspicious situations? Cases of absence: total absence of a bil, absence upon delivery or absence of load date. Suspicions about the parties to the bill: shipper, carrier, consignee. Suspicions about the goods: the items declared by the shipper are of particutar pro bative value. What is the current situation? New law has little influence over suspicion, but the case law does not sufficiently protect the probative value of bills of lading, the current practice of which leads to increased doubt.
