Summary/Abstract: The development of civilization in the 21st century, caused enormous changes in human functioning. Smartphones, computers, tablets and continuous access to the global network, have become a part of everyday life of adults, children and adolescents. The advanced digitization of life, the transfer of a large part of it to the online dimension, and the need to master new technologies and keep up with rapidly progressing changes in the ways of life, is associated with many, both known and yet undefined threats. This article discusses some of the dangers associated with the use of multimedia devices by children and adolescents, with particular emphasis on those that can be controlled by parents and teachers. The results of author own research on the topic of ways of smartphone using by pedagogy students and the potential dangers of the compulsive style of using mobile phones were also presented.
