The Dictionary of Neologisms

Summary/Abstract: The Dictionary of Neologisms will contain the lexis added to lexical resources of the Polish language over the last two or three decades and particularly the part of it belonging to the most recent stratum. The resources are based on the following three criteria: lexicographic, onomasiologic and morphologic. Most of the lexemes included are those occurring with high frequency in texts. The Dictionary of Neologisms introduces a graphic highlighting in the entry head of spelling variants, morphologic compounds, and synonyms if they are also neologisms. As a rule, the meanings and each of the highlighted variants are illustrated with original quotes taken from press articles and official texts published on the Internet. The information about occurrence of a given word with the same meaning and lexical scope in five contemporary dictionaries of the Polish language will be an integral part of each entry.
