Preamble to the analysis of film language in Silviu Purcărete's work

Summary/Abstract: The article is the preamble for a future study on the image in Silviu Purcărete’s plays. In this famous Romanian theatre director’s productions, no matter what language is spoken on stage, in the end the audience will not be sure whether they have seen a movie or a play. The premise of the article and of the future study is that in order to make a documentary movie on one of Silviu Purcărete’s plays, the filmmaker needs to understand his directing techniques in full depth. As this particular director is creating movie-like images, the filmmaker is required only to distance himself and sort the visual representations, as the movie is already in front of him on stage.
