Summary/Abstract: For the study of the Bulgarian community in Hamburg I use the defined by L. Gergova and M. Borisova (2015) strategies for construction, transmission and popularization of cultural heritage and their contribution for the maintenance of the national and the ethnocultural identities of the Bulgarian migrants. These are the strategy of the feast calendar, which includes the celebrated holidays in institutions of the Bulgarian migrant community; the strategy of the objects to which belong different artifacts as books, traditional costumes, ethnographic objects, icons and other things of the Bulgarian material heritage; and the strategy of the publicity, which is important for the communication between the studied institutions as well as for the communication with the host society. Together they show the contribution of the instrumentalized cultural heritage for the consolidation of the Bulgarian community in Hamburg as it is used by the local Bulgarian consulate, the Bulgarian school, the Bulgarian Orthodox Christian community, Bulgarian folklore dance and handicraft groups and other Bulgarian migrant institutions.
