Summary/Abstract: In the dynamics of the contemporary market it is a common situation several companies in one area of the market to play a leading role, distributing the major part of the market among themselves with one of them being dominant. In the specialized literature concerning this topic it is difficult to find a widely accepted definition of the term “dominant role” and for that reason the authors give their own definition with practical application. The domination is classified as “strong” and “weak” with a suitable geometric analogue for both. In the main part of the paper the authors treat the question when the domination is strong or weak and an example with real values is given for approbation. It is solved by online tools and corresponding conclusions are made. The methods proposed in the paper do not lead to difficult calculations. On the contrary, they use calculations which can be done easily if the input values are modified.
