Summary/Abstract: COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the lives of many Polish citizens. The changes have been visible particularly in tourist services. The aim of the paper is to present how specific elements of the structure of tourist traffic (both tourists and one‑day visitors) changed due to COVID-19 pandemic in Podkarpackie Voivodeship in 2020 and 2021. The argumentation is based on comparison of the results of two research measurements conducted in 2020 and 2021 within the same methodology. The first edition took place in situation of temporary loosening of the restriction, while in 2021 the government’s pandemic policy had a completely different character (tourism was possible without any major restrictions). Lockdown and related restrictions resulted in more intensive domestic tourism in 2020, which was implemented in situation of uncertainty and with focus on health security. Loosening the restrictions and milder pandemic policy in 2021 had consequences in return to pre‑pandemic patterns of tourism. The results may be useful for institutions responsible for tourism policy in the region and for entrepreneurs from the tourism industry, as well as for scientists interested in changes taking place in tourism during COVID-19 pandemic.
