Cooperation of Uniejów municipality and “Spycimierz Corpus Christi” association with italian “InfiorItalia” association and its role in the road to UNESCO list

Summary/Abstract: The end of the year 2021 has a special place in the history of Spycimierz – on 16th December in Paris the Spycimierz and Opole flower carpets prepared for the Corpus Christi procession were officially entered on the UNESCO representative list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The Italian “InfiorItalia” Association, with which Spycimierz has been cooperating for nearly a decade, has had a major role in this achievement. As in 2022 InforItalia celebrates the 20th anniversary of its existence, it is a good occasion to describe the cooperation between the Italian and Spycimierz associations and to highlight the field of “InforItalia’s” activity as well as its role in the efforts to have the Spycimierz tradition entered on the UNESCO list.
