Summary/Abstract: In the period following the end of World War II to 1953 there was a very intensive process of population's shift from agriculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The overall transfer of the agricultural population was around 317.000 persons, whereas the number of labour force in non-agricultural activities from 1947 (when the larger numbers of people from rural areas were "relocated" into industry) to 1953 increased by 56.486 persons, and within this increase industry and mining took more than a half of that number (29.232 persons).
