Summary/Abstract: Grażyna Stachówna, a renowned author of countless books and articles on film, has just published Jańcioland i okolice. Filmowe światy Jana Jakuba Kolskiego [Jancioland and Surroundings. The Film Worlds of Jan Jakub Kolski], the first monograph entirely devoted to Kolski’s feature films. She analyses the director’s oeuvre in the context of film authorship (in the modernist sense of the term) and mythobiography (fundamental relation between the work of art and the artist’s biography) and accentuates Kolski’s unique position in post-transformation Polish cinema.
