Summary/Abstract: The focus of the present article are the winged words appearing in Wojciech Młynarski’s songs. A lexicographic and corpus-based study was conducted in which seventeen expressions of this type were identified. Eight of them were subjected to a semantic-pragmatic analysis using the instrumentation offered by anthropological and cultural linguistics. The selection criterion for the aphorisms was the degree of their entrenchment in the historical context: only those expressions were selected whose accurate interpretation required knowledge of the epoch itself. The aphorisms revolved around three main conceptual domains: work, fun, and the media. The textual images of various phenomena from these domains were analysed as the background for a semantic-pragmatic characterisation of the winged words.
