Spirituality – pastoral care – transactional analysis. The presence of pastoral issues in one of the psychotherapeutic concepts

Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the relations between psychotherapy, treated as a form of psychological assistance, and faith, religion, and pastoral care. This issue has been present in transactional analysis almost from its beginnings, and it has been discussed by various authors from various perspectives. In Poland the application of transactional analysis in pastoral care has been extensively analysed by Rev. Antoni Tomkiewicz, PhD from the Catholic University of Lublin. One can hope that the issues mentioned in the article will arouse an interest of a number of both theoreticians and practitioners of transactional analysis as well as theologians and priests.
