Summary/Abstract: The nostalgic labeling in the erotic discourse of A. Petrova emphasizes its tendency towards the borderline of author’s consciousness. It is this transgression of the worldview of the modern emigrant poet that in turn sets the lyrical plot of A. Petrova within the context of the Romantic tradition. The doom of the romantic lover, whose loneliness is due to the mythologization and even sacralization of the partner in communicating their love, turns out to be immersion in nostalgia – a kind of attempt to return to a lost paradise. The text shows two opposite lines of the lyrical plot, internally connected and complementary to each other: separation and mutual attraction. The erotic discourse of A. Petrova includes in its semantic spectrum the mythology of the birth of Eros and the plot of Psyche, actualizing the mythological potential of that lyrical plot. Identification of potency of plot of Psyche promotes the expansion of an interpretative framework of the poem. The originality of erotic discourse is updated in the poem by A. Petrova, invariably in the nostalgic mode. Passion codes appear not only in the field of intimacy, but also in topos of borderhood and mirroring
