Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to analyse how the regulation of the possibility for the claimant to submit a certified translation of the foreign arbitral award responds to the legislative desire to facilitate the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Romania The hypothesis that the defendant disputes the accuracy of the translation or that the court of its own motion considers that the translation filed in the case file is unclear is addressed. In this situation, the question arises whether it is necessary to file a translation by an authorised translator or whether it is sufficient to file a translation by the party. The article also examines whether or not the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure are more favourable than the provisions of the New York Convention as regards the translation of foreign arbitral awards.
