Summary/Abstract: After the establishment of the ethnochoreology sector, in 1951, at the Institute of Folklore, the current Institute of Ethnography and Folklore "C. Brăiloiu" of the Romanian Academy, the main goal was, above all, the training of specialists who can study the popular game and understand it beyond the visible part of it - the actual movement. We mention that the folk game is one of the most complex peasant creations from the point of view of the artistic languages and the cultural codes it involves, therefore a more difficult science to understand, after all, closely related to the other branches of folklore through which translated literary and musical languages, at least. Andrei Bucșan was one of the specialists in this field, who, from the beginning of his activity, in 1954, when he was already collaborating with the institute, worked with responsibility and professionalism on the foundation and consolidation of this science that was so late outlined in Romania.
