Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the key characteristics of the digital generation (children in grades 5-7). The time range from the mass penetration of computers until now is considered,analyzing several key indicators such as age, values, access to information and ways of learning. Problems related to the adaptation of children to the dynamically developing digital environment in terms of ways of learning, communication and awareness are addressed. What are the consequences of the concentrated use of electronic media on children and how this affects the future of education? It will guide us to the correct understanding of the digital generation and to adapt the teaching approaches to the needs of the students. What will be the implications for teaching, learning and assessment in the new digital environment? How to combine innovation with current learning practices?
