Summary/Abstract: The exhibition was an attempt to show how it was proceeded to the writing of the first major scholarly book on the April Uprising “History of the April Uprising” in three volumes by Dimitar Todorov Strashimirov, to show how the documents and information were collected, how the surviving rebels, the battlefields and the places of death were photographed, how their portraits were traced and how they were repainted by the best artist available then in newly liberated Bulgaria.
