An Interesting Document about the Events in Sliven after the 1876 Uprising

Summary/Abstract: In the article is presented an original newly discovered documents: a letter of December 6, 1876 from Panayot Minkov of Sliven to Dobri G. Minkov in Constantinople, touching closely on the events in Sliven and the areas after the suppression of the April Uprising of 1876. The letter constitutes an important contribution on a number of questions, but most valuable is the information in it about the Inquiry Commission convened at the end of 1876 to look into the committed by Şevket Pasha in the Sancak of Sliven in May of the same year.
