Summary/Abstract: A city is not just a juxtaposition of buildings, as a house is never only a concrete and brick structure. A city is a living space, and that he embodies the thoughts and feelings of its inhabitants. Regarding the framework in which the human life develops, the environment, color has a special place, important for its influence on the human psychic, on the balance of people’s emotional state, as proved by a lot of scientific researches. Why “color in rehabilitation”? Because, on the one hand, the majority of information concerning the environment is received through our eyes: regardless of form, color acts on the sensory level as well as on the mentally level of the individual. In architecture it serves several aesthetic purposes: expressing the character of building materials, emphasizing the function of the building, creating an atmosphere (either outside or inside), to define unity and diversity. On the other hand, the approach in terms of color of an existing building has to take into account the “previous chromatic life” of the building, but also the color compatibility with the area where the building is situated. Rehabilitation is an approach to the redesigning of the existing building structured on conservative principles associated with the adequacy to the contemporary requirements of buildings that are both moral and physical aged, without perceiving the actual content of the intervention.
