Summary/Abstract: This paper will deal with the orthographic characteristics of the periodical Naša reč [Our Word], a weekly that has been published in Timisoara for almost a quarter of a century as an organ of Serbs living in Romania (the first issue of the weekly Naša reč was published on 5th January 1990). We shall analyse the orthographic characteristics of this weekly publication and its manifested deviations from the orthographic norm of the Serbian literary language in all the domains of orthography: the script, Ekavian and Ijekavian literary pronunciation, sound changes and sound relations, the writing of capital letters, the writing of whole and split words, splitting words at the end of a line, abbreviations, punctuation, the writing of foreign names and words. The survey material will be excerpted from several issues of the said weekly published in 2014. All the columns featured in the periodical will be analysed, and on the basis of examples of good and wrong usage of language, we shall draw a conclusion on the orthographic characteristics of the weekly Naša reč. It is worth noting that the orthographic norm of the Serbian language was changed and amended in 2010. (The Orthography of the Serbian Language, Matica srpska, 2010), so that this will provide an opportunity to see whether the contributions published in the weekly Naša reč adhere to the norm, and to what extent they deviate from it in any of the above-mentioned domains of orthography.
