Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the function of temporal determinative case system in the vernacular of Banat Montenegro. More specifically, it propounds on syntactic and semantic characteristics of prepositional-case constructions which act as syntactic formalisers of the direct temporal identification – simultaneity. In order to form the system of temporal prepositional-case constructions of the examined vernacular, the starting point is the semantics of case constructions, observing the mutual complementary and / or competitive relationship of case units within the semantic structure of temporality. A special attention is paid to a variety of archaic features as well as the features of analytical (Balkan) character which are expected in vernacular languages spoken on the periphery of Serbian dialectical territory, and which influenced the system of prepositional-case constructions which carry the meaning of the direct temporal identification in the vernacular of Banat Montenegro.
