Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes some borrowings of Turkish origin in the cattle-breeding terminology of south-east Serbia. The material is collected from the field, as well as from dialectical dictionaries. Due to the length and intensity of the presence of the Turks in this region, turkismsare the most numerous among the borrowers in the cattle-breedingterminology of south-east Serbia. Semantically, they are very diverse. They meet in a large number of semantic fields: small cattle names, age in cattle, parts of the body, diseases in cattle, habitats and pastures, milk processing, workers around livestock, shepherd’s equipment; and in particular in the lexicon concerning the horse: general names, names by color of hair, names of different parts of equipment for horses.
