Summary/Abstract: The works of the writer Anđelko Krstić belong to both Serbian and Macedonian literature. In history of literature, there are writers who belong to literatures of as many as three different peoples. One such example is Kosta Racin, who mostly wrote in Serbian, but he published his best works in Macedonian and even Bulgarian; whereas the Bulgarian Ljuben Karavelov belongs to Serbian, Russian and Romanian, in addition to the Bulgarian literature. Writing in multiple languages usually gives cause for contentions and claims of entitlement from all sides. Hence Croats often seek to claim ownership over Serbian writers and scientists such as Tesla, Andrić and many others. Sometimes it is good that a writer’s provenance is a subject of dispute between different nations, because that is a significant affirmation of their value. There were no larger disputes between Serbs and Macedonians concerning the works of Anđelko Krstić, for this writer expressed his nationality to be Serbian, he wrote solely in the Serbian language and fought for the creation and liberation of the Serbian state and Serbian people. He found the literary themes and motifs for his writings mostly in Macedonian land, but also in many areas of the mountainous Balkans.
