Summary/Abstract: The article deals with questions about the species diversity of criminal investigation methodology and the criteria for their division. Based on an analysis of scientific theory, the main views on these issues have been revealed. On this basis, conclusions are made regarding the criteria for classification of criminal investigation methodology and a scientifically substantiated view of their species and subspecies division is proposed.
