Summary/Abstract: English borrowings are a constant practice, especially in areas of knowledge which cover new fields of activity or new technologies. The European Union is also joining this trend, with a number of terms which have been adopted as such in Romanian and other European languages. The present study aims to provide a clear explanation, in order to justify – or not – the use of several such terms.
