Summary/Abstract: The author makes a brief overview of the contributions of the Romanian Slavists in the field of comparative literature, showing the importance of the comparative method in expanding and deepening the analytical approach. Tracking the motifs, topics, ideas, influences and literary parallels between the Slavic and Romanian writers in a broad historical-cultural context transpires in major works that have strengthened the status of the Slavic comparative literature in the Romanian milieu. After 1989 they have opened new perspectives in front of the literary exegetes (European programmes of academic mobility, international congresses and scientific sessions, access to the Internet etc.), which generates hope for reviving this important subject.
