Summary/Abstract: In this paper we research the words that have recently been borrowed from Serbian into the Romanian dialect spoken in the Serbian Banat. Because of the linguistic isolation from the centres of innovation, there was a stagnation of the enrichment of the lexicon of Romanian dialects spoken in the Serbian Banat, mostly in the technical and electronic domain, but also other domains. This has lead to the borrowing of words from Serbian, which have been adapted to the phonetic system of the Romanian dialects from Banat. In most cases, the place of the accent has changed. When sound changes are concerned, the most numerous ones are those affecting consonants.
