THE ROLE OF FINE ARTS IN FORMING SOCIALIST IDENTITY

Summary/Abstract: An analysis of historiographical and artistic monographs through a case study provides an overview of the process that Montenegrin painting went through after the Second World War. The painters of the post-war period, by order of the Party, founded the artistic direction - social realism, with the aim of celebrating the National Liberation War, the partisan movement and the newly established social system. The government's intention to make social realism the only artistic direction will not come true.
