Summary/Abstract: Peacebuilding activities in general since the 1990s have been carried out within the scope of liberal peace. Despite the successful aspects of the peacebuilding approach in question, the attempt to build a uniform peace everywhere by ignoring the ontological structure of different geographies caused it to achieve unsuccessful results in many countries and draw the arrows of criticism. In this direction, it has been frequently emphasized that alternative approaches to liberal peace should be developed. In this study, parallel to the liberal peace criticisms, while the inadequacies of liberal peace are accepted, it is argued that these deficiencies should be filled by local peacebuilding approaches in the geographies where peacebuilding is planned. This claim has been tried to be verified by focusing on Ubuntu, one of the traditional approaches of Africa.
