Summary/Abstract: Two different books are suggested to be used in the 4th-grade science course. One of these books is the one by the Ministry of National Education (MoNE), and the other is the one by a private publisher which is deemed appropriate to be used as a textbook for 5 years by MoNE. The purpose of this study is to analyze the end-of-unit exercise questions in these two textbooks according to TIMSS 2019 cognitive domains and to compare the results of the analysis. The study was carried out with the case study method, which is one of the qualitative research designs. The data that will form the basis of the study were collected by document analysis method. Descriptive analysis, one of the qualitative data analysis techniques, was used to analyze the questions. In the study, a total of 444 end-of-unit exercise questions in both textbooks were analyzed according to TIMSS 2019 cognitive domains. The change in the cognitive characteristics of these questions from the 1st unit to the 7th unit and the difference between the two books were analyzed. According to the findings, in both books, the exercise problems are mostly represented by knowing the cognitive domain; whereas the least are represented by the reasoning domain.
