Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the importance of audits in the occupational health and safety management system which provides guidelines for occupational health and safety management at the work within the organization. Audits aim the work organization / sub-organizational units, i. e. top management and all employees, their involvement in assessments and decision-making process. It is only possible to adequately monitor the overall state of occupational safety and health with the application of constant audits and submission of periodic reports.
