Summary/Abstract: The research on the south slope of the el-Khokha hillock, in the area of TT 184 (Nefermenu) began in 1995 and during the past quarter of a century it was extended on several decorated mortuary monuments created in this area in all the important periods of ancient Egyptian history. In the course of the systematic excavations, the foci of the research as well as the methods applied have continuously changed nevertheless they remain related to each other. This paper presents the history of the research.
