Summary/Abstract: The present paper gives an overview of the Feroese ballad Regin Smiður focusing on the chronology in its narrative structure, and comparing it with Icelandic medieval poems from Sæmunðar-Edda which preserve the myth of Sigurd the Dragon Slayer – Reginsmál (Sigurðarkviða Fáfnisbana II), Fáfnismál, Grípisspá, Völsungakviða in forna (Helgakviða Hundingsbana II) – but also with the saga written in the 13th century in Iceland, Völsunga sagan.
