Summary/Abstract: Foreign language learning means meaningful communication, systematic language practice, authentic text analysis. In this paper, I deal with a "classical" problem of German as LSP-didactics: how action competence in everyday/professional communication relies upon practical skills. The focus lies on writing activities, together with their accompanying L2-receptive and productive specificity. On the other hand, the text type "(business) letter" belongs to the L2-text world, further involving its text-genre-features and learning-level oriented variations (private correspondence, emails and also the special case of "complaints"). On this basis and starting from a unit in the teaching book „Unternehmen Deutsch. Grundkurs", I would like to tackle aspects of realistic text work with our A2-level-learners of German. They experienced in a classroom simulation how to apply oral and written communication-related knowledge and skills.
