Summary/Abstract: Financial transactions are very common and represent an important part of the total of transactions carried out at international level. In terms of transfer pricing, they are among the most complex and significant transactions in multinational groups. During 2021, it was announced that updated information on the LIBOR reference rate will no longer be published. The decision is part of a series of reforms of the financial market, which started as early as 2009 because of the financial crisis, when the credibility of this rate was questioned. Thus, a shift towards alternative risk‑free rates (RFRs) instead of LIBOR was planned, to achieve better stability of the financial market. Thus, starting from 2022, LIBOR will no longer be published/updated. In this context, in 2021 the European Commission published various regulations which set up rates suitable for replacing LIBOR. Considering the above, taxpayers should prepare for this transition, and carefully analyse the financial transactions they carry out and related agreements.
