Summary/Abstract: This article presents the history of Stanisław Karolus. He was born in Oświęcim in 1898 and the whole his life was connected with army. He served in PolishLegions and Austrian Army during the First World War. After 1918 he joined thenew Polish Army as an officer. A few years he was also a soldier in 12 InfantryRegiment in Wadowice. In the rank of major he was in charge of a battalion inPolish Campaign 1939 and French Campaign 1940. The rest of life he spent onemigration in Great Britain and Switzerland. Author presents and quotes a lot ofStanislaw Karolus’ correspondence, especially from the period of First World Warand with Maria Mościcka. In the majority author made use of the documents fromhis own archive, Archive in Polish Museum in Rapperswill, Archive in Jasna Góra.
