Summary/Abstract: Human rights are defined as privileges arising from his status that carries a dignity inherent in his being. With the passage of the third millennium and the promotion of humanism as a supreme value in postmodern culture, society’s expectations of strengthening human rights are degraded by pragmatic reality. The current context is full of contradictions. To the health and economic insecurity of the last two years (2019-2020), a state that continues to obscure the perspective of the future, is added another destabilizing vector, that of the abuse of individual rights. The focus of the article is mainly on the right to freedom of conscience. According to a 2020 study, this freedom is violated in 90% of the world’s countries.
