Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyse and interpret the images of femininity in Daphne duMaurier’s novel My cousin Rachel, which reflect the psychic representations of the protagonist-narrator. The analysis will cover selected factors potentially influencing his perception of themain female figure, such as: 1) the main character’s misogyny, 2) the protagonist’s emotionaland somatic states, 3) concepts about women in Victorian England.
