Sexuality of women with physical disabilities in movies

Summary/Abstract: People with disabilities, although they constitute a significant part of the society, are nota popular film topic. Issues related to the sexuality of this social group are rarely raisednot only in films, but also in public discourse. There are still numerous stereotypes in societyaccording to which these people are asexual or hypersexual. Women with disabilities areparticularly stigmatized as they are often deprived of the right to be a mother, wife or partner.The aim of this article is to draw attention to the sexuality of women with physical disabilitiesand to analyse the films released in recent years that deal with this extremely important issue.
