Summary/Abstract: The Fifth Directive 2005/14/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2005 relating to insurance against civil liability in respect of the use of motor vehicles regulates the European Accident Report, a document that in the event of an accident simplifies the procedure of obtaining compensation. The European Accident Report completed and signed by the participants of the accident, and insurance companies accept it as a basis for payment of damages and this act has the same importance as the police report. The Act of the Compulsory Insurance in Traffic of the Republic of Serbia, also, regulates the European Accident Report.
