Summary/Abstract: The CoViD-19 has struck global maritime security in a particular way. As early as in March 2020, the pandemic appeared on aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, forcing its crew to cease its deployment. Similar outbreaks brought maritime activities of warships to a halt worldwide. Warships have proven to be particularly susceptible to pandemics. The outbreaks forced naval forces to rethink their procedures related to prevention of infectious diseases onboard. These amendments, together with wide-scale vaccination campaigns, result in visible successes. However, due to new coronavirus variants still emerging, the situation requires further assessment. Reduced activities of naval forces in the wake of pandemic hamper their ability to perform activities below threshold of war and naval diplomacy. It is therefore crucial to balance necessary health requirements with ability to perform naval operations. The purpose of this article is to characterize the most important threats for international security arising as a result of the CoViD-19 pandemic, as well as to introduce possible solutions for further countermeasures against such threats.
