Summary/Abstract: The article is an overview of the genres and their specific forms in which the works with information on natural sciences in the old Bulgarian literature function. These writings (exegetical, didactic, descriptive, prescriptive, etc.) as theological treatises are an essential part of the literature. The concepts, ideas and practical activity after Christianization in the Bulgarian lands are connected with the overall understanding of the cosmos and the surrounding nature. The objective description of facts and phenomena of reality is closely intertwined with their symbolic-allegorical explanation in the lines of the Christian worldview. New facts from the manuscript tradition are published and perspectives for their study are drawn.
